First impressions hotel is lovely, well kept garden etc , rooms are newly refurbished and decent size with little kitchen area like sink, fridge microwave and utensils. Meal times in the restaurant can get busy with long ques out the door but we managed to avoid . And the food was always lovely for adults and can be slightly repetitive but wasn’t much choice for kids . It was always the same, burgers pasta and sauce or pizza. Snack bar was ok. Kids loved the cheese toasties and chicken fingers , but the bar area is where the problems are. Only 2 people serving drinks and at one point I queued for 25 mins just to get a d rink , and what holds up the ques is not only there not being enough staff but every order they take they input it into the till screen and they they scan ur wrist band. Such a waste of time in my opinion. Then the nighttime entertainment wasn’t always the best and never did I once get a seat for myself or kids , definitely need more seats for people as we had to stand in the door way an then my kids would get fed up as they couldn’t see the show properly. There also isn't an onsite shop but have plenty across the road and the beach is only 2 mins walk across from the hotel. Overall it was an ok stay but I wouldn’t stay here again, if you have kids under the age of 10 then it would suit you great. It very much aimed at the younger family’s.
Visited with my husband, 4 year old son and 5 month old daughter for a week staying on an all inclusive basis. We requested a ground floor room prior to our visit which were both provided on arrival. (We did have to send numerous emails to this effect as they all went unanswered until I messaged on instagram.) When we checked in we had missed evening meal due to the time and were surprised to discover we werent provided with a cold pack lunch or similar. We were advised to go to the pool bar but no food was available here. The hotel has a great location: walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants, mini golf and aquariam and only a short transfer from the airport. We found the quality of the food very good but on the whole rather repetitive - more so than other all inclusive hotels we've stayed at. The pool bar also serves food made to order as opposed to being left out and replenised as necessary which we thought was a nice touch and usually did for lunch as opposed to the main restaurant. During peak times it can get busy waiting and I think they could benefit from additional staff, same with the bar. The main restaurant advertises themed evenings but I wouldnt neccessarily agree as it would just be one bench with a few food items from said country. It was a shame there was no option/area to eat outdoors for evening meal. Mini disco was great on an evening 8-8.45 and kept my son entertained. Twice a week it takes place outdoors which was lovely and preferred. My son went to the mini club twice which he enjoyed and staff were great with him. Slides in the pool were great, pools rather cold though even in July. Pools open at 10am and are strict on this as on our first day my son went in at half 9 as we didnt realise and was asked to vacate until 10 on the dot. Hotel has a park, football pitch, basketball court, gym, computers available to use, book area, zip line (not in use for the foreseeable) spa and shower room which is locked and pre bookable on day of departure. During the second half of our stay the hotel appeared to be getting a lot busier. We noticed considerable queing at the restaurant for evening meal and limited sun loungers around the pool with the slides (that said reserving loungers before 10am is not permitted and staff will remove towels etc). The staff take a lot of pride in the appearance and we noticed the likes of gardners and painters attending to jobs needing done. We had a great time however would look elsewhere on a future visit to lanzarote. Strongly believe additional staff are needed for summer months.
This is our second time visiting the hotel and we had high expectations based off our first stay but the hotels ability to maintain consistent service is excellent. The location is really good. 2 minutes to the beach and promenade, shops across the road and the main town just 4/5 mins walk away with a pram. We arrived midday and as usual had a really smooth check in, with a friendly, warm lady (Veronica, I think!) on the front desk who was brilliant with our two kids. When we arrived at our room it didn't really work for our family, right beside the playground and not great for naps but we tried to stick with it. When it became apparent it wasn't going to work, I can't stress this enough, the reception team did everything they could to find us a room that worked for us. I was a bit embarrassed about being difficult but they said "we just want you to be happy" which is an outstanding approach to customer service . Thank you for accommodating me! I dealt with multiple people so I'll not single anyone out. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and always kept immaculate by the cleaning team. The hotel in general is kept in pretty amazing condition considering the amount and age profile of the guests. We noticed a few improvements they'd made from previous year at the restaurant and baby club. If you go out at 8am you will see an army of staff making sure you wake up to a clean and tidy hotel. Throughout the day I saw staff fixing, tidying and cleaning the hotel to make sure it stays in great shape. They take the 'Garden' element of the hotel quite seriously and it shows! The animation team are very good with the kids, particularly Lia in the baby club who my daughter loved. A lot of the animation team remembered both of our children from 12 months previous which was very nice, these guys must come across so many kids from different worlds. The shows are good and the mini disco is controlled chaos but our kids loved it. The loved the songs and learning the dances. Daisy is a hit. Like an A List celeb. A high five from Daisy would make our kids day and I'd be told how that was their "best friend" - again it's the small gestures - Daisy makes sure if you're walking past, nearby or standing their that you get a high five or a hug. Very observant. My only comment would be around the adult activities during the day, the animation team make an announcement but unless your near the stage, the sound doesn't really carry in the wind and a lot of the time nobody shows up. I've stayed place previously where they do an announcement and a little lap of the sunbeds to say what's happening and it worked really well - I appreciate the activities aren't for everyone but it felt like they weren't really promoted. Personally, I liked the food choices. Breakfast is the best meal of the day. Lunch we moved between pool bar and restaurant and dinner was always good. Their is a good choice, the food is nice and there is always something available from the live cooking grill. Finally, the food and drink staff are great Like the animation team, the bar staff also remembered me from our previous stay...I guess that's positive. They work so hard almost all day so aren't always the chattiest but if you make conversation they will chat to you, especially about football. That said when the kids are ordering they make the extra effort and my two loved ordering their own drinks! The restaurant staff have to be commended too. This is a family hotel focused on kids. At times it can be loud and messy but they just smile and try to have fun with the kids which really puts you at ease if your child is being difficult in some way. This is a brilliant hotel. I noticed there was almost no turnover in staff on any of teams which shows it's probably a pretty good place to work but keeps that consistency in service. Clean, comfortable, good food and handy location. You can find that in a lot of places but if you want proper customer focused service, where you're kids are prioritised then I couldn't recommend H10 Lanzarote Gardens enough.
