The worst holiday experience ever. We had full board in hotel and my child got so sick that he vomitted even after liquids. It started with stomach pain and cramps then he was vomiting. He ended up in hospital due to dehydration and under drop. I report it to the hotel they didn't even offer any compensation for lost holiday days and took zero responsibility for running canteen below food handling standards. The standards for reheated food is min 63° so bain marines should be actually hot and they weren't. The place where they kept dairy products which kind of look like chiller is actually not working at all (milk was room temperature should be below 5°). Signage about food was missing often and mixed up in places so not safe for people with allergies to eat there. The rooms very old, no fridge, no kettle, no hairdryer, and wardrobe is fully opened so anyone can see your personal things. During our time sink was blocked and never sorted out, only balcony doors were fixed as lock fall into pieces. In the room we had remote control missing so had to go reception to get one. Basic cleaning, no floor sweeping and when we left our card for electricity in the wall cleaners were taking it away so had to chase them to get it back. Not happy, won't go back in that area of Spain anymore.
Got this hotel as a late deal with Jet2. Thankfully it was £300 off for 2 people. Check-in was ok. Coach dropped us off at 11:30am & we couldn't check in until 2pm ( was actually 2:15 by the time they gave us the room card) but they let us leave our luggage so we could go for lunch. Just 2 main lifts. One next to reception and one at the far end of the bar area, which were just big enough for 4 people or 2 with luggage and always had a queue. However, after dinner, we spotted 2 smaller lifts opposite the dining area. Just big enough for 3 without the overloaded sign flashing. These lifts go from the dining area on floor -1 to every floor except the ground floor (floor 0). Room was very basic and dated, but perfectly adequate for us. We knew that there was no fridge or kettle. We took a travel kettle and some sachets acquired from other trips but only used it once. Shower attachment was over the bath so could be a problem with climbing into it, but it did have a non slip surface. Hot water was always available. Walls are paper thin and you could easily hear guests in the next door bathroom when using ours. Unfortunately there were 5 coach loads of school children, aged from about 10-16 so it was very busy. Meals were very basic buffet style and always a mad scramble to pile their plates as high as they could (this was the adults more than the children). A few times we swapped evening meal for lunch and ate out at night as lunchtime was quiet with most guests out on trips, and there is some lovely restaurants nearby. If I go to Calella again it will be to the Htop Amaika nearby.
