Hotel La Barracuda stoji izravno uz more na plaži Montemar, na zapadnom kraju Torremolinosa, otprilike na pola puta između središta grada i Benalmádene. Hotel s tri zvjezdice ima 234 sobe na deset katova, a većina gleda na more. Na raspolaganju su jednokrevetne, dvokrevetne i trokrevetne sobe te obiteljske sobe za dvije odrasle osobe i dvoje djece, sve veličine oko 22 m². Sve imaju balkon ili terasu, klima uređaj, televizor, telefon i besplatan Wi-Fi. Kupaonica ima kadu ili tuš i sušilo za kosu.
Sadržaji i usluge
Vanjski bazen s ležaljkama i barom uz bazen otvoren je od veljače do prosinca, a u siječnju je zatvoren. Hotel nudi obroke u restoranu sa švedskim stolom, koji poslužuje doručak, ručak i večeru s mediteranskim i međunarodnim jelima. S krovne terase s barom pruža se pogled na more. Navečer su u salonu na programu glazba uživo i flamenko, a u hotelu su još teniski teren, igralište za boćanje, stolni tenis i dječje igralište u vrtu. Recepcija radi 24 sata dnevno, a na raspolaganju su praonica rublja i dizalo. Parkiralište se naplaćuje, a mjesta ima malo. Kućni ljubimci nisu dopušteni.
Lokacija i posebnosti
Hotel se nalazi na adresi Avenida de España 1-5, Playa de Montemar. Plaža La Carihuela udaljena je svega nekoliko koraka, do sportske luke Puerto Marina u Benalmádeni ima oko 1,5 km, a do središta Torremolinosa oko 2,5 km. Do željezničke stanice El Pinillo ima 17 minuta hoda, a vlakovi sa stanica u Torremolinosu voze do zračne luke Malaga, koja je od hotela udaljena oko 8 km.
Zanimljivost
Calle San Miguel, oko 2,5 km od hotela, najživlja je pješačka ulica u Torremolinosu, puna trgovina, barova i restorana. Na njezinu kraju stoji toranj Torre de Pimentel, sagrađen oko 1300. godine, nekadašnji Torre de los Molinos ili Toranj mlinova, po kojem je grad dobio ime. Od tornja se strmom ulicom Cuesta del Tajo spuštate do plaže Bajondillo.

We recently spent a week on a bed-and-breakfast basis at Hotel La Barracuda. Overall we were happy with the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the staff were nice, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was buffet-style, with the usual selection of food, and we also enjoyed the bar snacks and drinks. Unfortunately, our stay was spoilt to a considerable extent by the noise from the rooftop bar, where loud, booming music continued until around 12.30 am every night. I have difficulty getting to sleep, and the constant bass-heavy music made this particularly difficult. We had booked several day-trip excursions during our holiday, which meant early starts and long tiring days. At the end of these days, we really needed peace, quiet and, above all, a good night’s sleep. I had considered asking to be moved to another room, but my husband didn’t want to make a fuss. In hindsight, I wish we had raised the issue, as lack of sleep had a real impact on our enjoyment of the holiday. It is certainly a mistake I won’t make again. The hotel has several positive points, particularly its friendly staff, clean rooms, and enjoyable bar refreshments. However, I feel that guests should be made aware of the potential noise from the rooftop bar especially those allocated rooms on the upper floors. My advice to anyone booking a stay here would be to request a room away from the rooftop bar. A comfortable room and friendly service are important, but a peaceful night’s sleep is equally essential when you are on holiday.
Wonderful location with access to the boardwalk and the beach. Very friendly staff. Breakfast, dinner, room are adequate.
We chose the Hotel La Barracuda for its location, and it didn’t disappoint, the views were amazing from our 4th floor balcony overlooking the pool and sea,and right on the beach front.We did find the hotel a little dated, but we were fine with that, because all of the hotel was very very clean,Our room was spacious with a lovely large comfortable double bed, the aircon was very good and strong.The bathroom was fine, we requested a walk-in shower for which it was granted,We were in room 412, and our room attendant kept our room spotless and clean all week,and she was very courteous and polite..We were half board, and only chose to go for breakfast 3 times out of the weeks stay,for which we found the food was perfectly fine,As for the evening meal,even tho it was tasty, it was always just warm, but still there was a good selection.plus the restaurant staff were very polite and friendly..but I can’t say the same for the middle aged barman in the entertainment bar, we found him abrupt and never once smiled! In all we did enjoy our stay at this hotel, and we think all the staff are very kind and friendly apart from one..
