RF Astoria je manjši aparthotel s tremi zvezdicami v kraju Puerto de la Cruz na severu Tenerifa, namenjen samo odraslim gostom. Ima 33 enot, studiev in junior suit, vse pa imajo kuhinjsko nišo, zato ste lahko pri obrokih povsem neodvisni. Do obmorske promenade San Telmo je le nekaj korakov, do trgovin in restavracij v središču pa tri minute hoje. Najbolj bo všeč parom in odraslim, ki iščejo miren kotiček, od koder vse dosežejo peš.
Sobe in nastanitev
Studii imajo dve ločeni postelji in stropni ventilator, v junior suitah pa je poleg zakonske ali dveh ločenih postelj še dnevni prostor z raztegljivim kavčem. V vseh enotah so satelitska televizija s ploskim zaslonom, kuhinjska niša s kuhalno ploščo, hladilnikom, mikrovalovno pečico in aparatom za kavo ter posoda in pribor. Kopalnice imajo kad in sušilnik za lase. Nekatere enote imajo opremljen ali francoski balkon, sef pa je na voljo za doplačilo.
Objekti in storitve
RF Astoria je aparthotel brez obveznih obrokov. Zajtrk lahko za doplačilo naročite v hotelskem baru s kavarno, kjer ga strežejo od 7.30 do 10.30. Manjši zunanji bazen obdaja sončna terasa z ležalniki in senčniki. V hotelu sta še biljard in dnevni prostor s televizijo. Recepcija je odprta 24 ur na dan, v hotelu je dvigalo, parkiranje pa je plačljivo. Hišni ljubljenčki niso dovoljeni.

Hotel je na naslovu Calle Enrique Talg 15. Promenada San Telmo je oddaljena 100 metrov, plaža San Telmo 200 metrov, morski bazeni Lago Martiánez pa približno 500 metrov. Do cerkve Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia je pet minut hoje, do trga Plaza del Charco 650 metrov, do botaničnega vrta pa 17 minut peš. Letališče Tenerife Sever je od hotela oddaljeno 28 km oziroma pol ure vožnje, Mednarodno letališče Tenerife Jug pa 91 km.
Zabavno dejstvo
Mestece La Orotava je od hotela oddaljeno le okoli 6 km. V njegovem starem delu stoji Casa de los Balcones, hiša iz leta 1632, znana po izrezljanih lesenih balkonih in notranjem dvorišču, polnem zelenja. V hiši je danes muzej kanarskih šeg, ogledate pa si lahko tudi, kako nastaja tradicionalno kanarsko ažurno vezenje.

My. review is as follows: Pros: GREAT location - we could walk to everything SUPER Clean Comfortable and firm mattress VERY Nice and helpful staff. Particularly Dalai Grocery Store around the corner Cons: Extraordinarily bare rooms. Like - I am talking BARE. It is a step above (if that) a hostel. Lighting is sparse. No AC - just a ceiling fan. VERY VerY loud . I am not a light sleeper, but becuase we had our door (aka window)open in the evening to get a breeze (see the no AC part above), it meant that we were subject to late night passers by. Who happened to be bosterour and loud. Did I mention loud? Also, a chorus of barking dogs, with a few thrown in honking horns. Even with the negatives, this place has a certain charm. It clearly was once a grand old hotel. It feels a bit tired, but the price is right. And it checks the necessary boxes for me: clean, safe, well located. I can recommend this place as long as you know this is not luxurious. It meets your needs, and s long as you are not looking for luxury, and you are OK with my list of cons, you will be OK staying here.
This hotel was clearly very grand in its day. Now it is a little tired and in need of some tlc. Good points: Staff helpful and friendly Good location. Not right on the front where it is noisy Kitchen area in the rooms is handy Bed very comfy (except pillows which were lumpy) The rooms are clean Not so good: Noisy at night No aircon. Room was hot in April so will be worse in the summer No extractor fan in bathroom Rooms in need of maintenance: we were in 304 and the issues were : shower very weedy and stiff, pillows lumpy, bed head rusted - in need of a paint!, kettle could only be plugged in on the floor as lead too short to reach the sockets in the top of the kitchen unit, ceiling fan pull switch broken (there is no aircon….) so you could only change the speed of it by standing on a chair. When it was in anything other than very low it rattled and swayed a lot - I don’t think it was particularly safe. It is also of note that there is NO food in the room at all, so when we arrived just after 10pm (the supermarket over the road closes at 10) we couldn’t get any milk to make a cuppa (there is no bar). I’ve never stayed in a hotel anywhere in the world where they didn’t even have small cartons of UHT milk. I bring my own teabags but have always been able to get some milk. Not here. Went to bed with the water we had brought from the airport…
Stayed here for 4 nights mid-March. We were very happy with all aspects of his place. As with other guests/reviewers we found the staff really nice and helpful, hotel itself very clean. Was surprised and delighted at the heated swimming pool, small but nice enough. Big sun roof area. Beautiful colour all around. Close to all amenities, shops, restaurants, coasts. Would definitely stay here again.
