Lovely relaxing hotel Beautiful views from all over hotel View from our bedroom on 5th floor stunning Room generally good but did have an issue on two days with Ants but all credit to the hotel they resolved this both times urgently. Dining experience let hotel down Quality of food and selection very good but felt very much like “school dinners” One night we went to dinner a bit later than usual 7.45 pm Despite service advertised as up to 9 pm as soon as 9pm came all the lights went up and the staff started emptying all the remaining food into waste bins. The sheer clattering and noise doing this wasn’t a great experience and certainly shouldn’t have been done when guests are still eating their dinner !! Another issue in the dining room was the staff over zealous clearing up your plates Eg one night we had just sat down ordered a bottle of wine which was poured into 2 glasses ,we left the table to get food (as buffet service)and in the less than 5 minutes we were away from table the staff had taken away our glasses of wine . When we noticed this we advised staff of this but no apology and they only brought us 2 fresh glasses but minus the wine and made no attempt to remedy this!! I thought they maybe wouldn’t have charged for the full bottle as we didn’t get a full bottle however I was very disappointed that wasn’t the case. It got to the stage when going for dinner every morning and evening we left table separately to get food to ensure plates couldn’t be lifted. To sum up we really did enjoy the majority of our week as stayed Hotel lovely and very relaxing but think the Hotel should work on how the majority of staff interact with Guests. Apart from the lady in the dining room who allocated you the table (apologies for not remembering her name )almost everyone else we came into contact with were very polite but did not come across as particularly interested in Hotel Guests . An example of this was one night in the dining room we heard a couple comment to the staff that this was their 14th visit to the hotel and they were delighted to have been given a nice table at the window with the beautiful view. To myself who is in a customer facing role myself the first thing I would have done was thank them so much for choosing our Hotel so many times in the past and is there anything we can do to make this visit more special for you. Unfortunately this didn’t happen and the staff member just smiled and went about her business. I really believe with a bit of staff training this Hotel can have both the views and the experience.
We found the hotel to be very comfortable and met all our expectations. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly which added to the enjoyment of our stay.
Very special hotel, welcoming staff. Beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable hotel, excellent range of facilities. Great animation staff who got guests involved in various activities. Fab entertainment on evening with choice of relaxing bars. Excellent food choices at breakfast. We stayed bed and breakfast. Would definitely recommend to others
