We stayed in this hotel between the 9th and 16th of September and while this hotel looks nice at a glance, it is in severe need of some maintenance and updating. The first night we checked in it was late, missed dinner so we went out, had some food and came back to sleep for the night. What we discovered when we woke up was shocking, the room hadn't been cleaned (room 331), even the bedsheets looked dirty. Furthermore, water wouldn't stay in the sink while I was having a shave, the toilet roll holder was loose, I slipped in the shower cubicle (slippery surface) which later turned out that I had sprained my ankle, a loose plug hole cover in the shower with sharp edges beneath it and it's good job we didn't use the wardrobes as they were filthy as well. We immediately walked down to reception and mentioned all the above and was placed in a different room (room 325) on the same floor with a similar view. This time the room was clean but again in a poor condition. The sink not retaining water, loose toilet roll holder, shower plug hole cover, curtains not properly attached to the curtain rail and most shocking of all the wall was cracked where the door hinges are at the door into our room and each time that you opened to door exiting our room, bits of plaster dust flaked off the wall onto the floor. Later on that day, bag of H10 chocolates were left in the room (think they were apologetic for giving us a room in that state) We stayed here on a half board basis and wish that we had just gone self catering, the food selection and quality was below average at best. Both breakfast and dinner had a very limited selection while half of the time we walked out of the restaurant at dinner as the food looked inedible and looked like a dog's dinner. When the was an option for us at dinner, the food tasted good but quality of the ingredients not the best. The overall condition of the hotel was reflected by the rooms, worn out and in severe need of refurbishment. Even the WIFI wasn't up to scratch and kept dropping out. The only positive part of my stay was the staff from reception, the restaurant, bar area, cleaners including everybody who worked there were great only to be let down by a building that needs shutting down and renovating. The last comment that we would like to make is that when we checked out, our wrist bands removed by a member of the reception staff, we left the hotel and returned for our luggage later only to be abruptly challenged by a security man at the reception entrance with a baton in his pocket asking where our wrist bands were. We were let through when we told him that we was collecting our luggage and he left us alone at that point. If security are under instruction to check for wrist bands, then maybe it would be beneficial for wrist bands to be left on until the guests have left with their luggage! Would I stay in this hotel again? Maybe but I think that I'll try a different one in the area next time. I've stopped in nicer 3 star rated hotels.

This was an extended-family-Christmas vacation for 3 generations of the family which could have been brilliant but for the attitudes of some of the staff. The location is great right by the lido and beach ( not used much in December) but be prepared for a lenghty transfer. Alarm bells first started to ring at check in, front desk staff seemed to have been trained by Chinese border security but without any actual system of dealing with people in order.. took absolutely ages.... not so much if you were Spanish though strangely. Next was the restaurant, every time we announced that we were a party of 11 ( which we did at least twice a day) you'd swear we had just made the most outrageous demand they had ever heard of... its not like they hadn't known that a party off 11 had booked with them for Christmas ! 4 of our party were vegetarian, who were very much not happy at all with the selection available, but for us meat-eaters there was nothing to complain about ( once seated) , Christmas dinner was excellent if you like seafood in particular ( we were spread over two tables though) Bar service was a lottery, some waiters were great others took great pains to avoid eye contact whenever possible. That said, the entertainment guys were great, the town itself is a short walk away, shops nearby etc. Won't be in a hurry to go back

4 nights in hotel H10 Tenerife Playa ****, certainly not worth 4 stars. The room was small and certainly not hygienic; there was mold above the mirror and mold in the bathroom. The air conditioning is outdated and very loud. The room was very noisy with night noise from live music and you could hear the people in the room next to us snoring 😴
