Overall, we had a great experience at the hotel and really enjoyed our stay. There were many things we loved, and I would like to mention some of the staff members who made our experience especially pleasant. Our housekeeper, Mohammed, in Building 5A, was absolutely great — very friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The person at reception who checked us in was also very kind and friendly, although unfortunately I don’t know his name. The Lebanese restaurant, Amoura, was the best for us. Both the food and the service were excellent. Limoni was also very good, with great service. If you are looking for a calm and romantic dinner, I would definitely recommend Limoni. The other restaurants were also great in terms of service, although I wasn’t as impressed with the food and menu options. The pool area was also great overall, except for the towel situation. It was a little strange that we had to ask the housekeeping department to bring us pool towels. I’ve never experienced a hotel where there were no towels available in the pool area, and during our stay there never seemed to be any there. 😂 However, the pool staff were very friendly and willing to help (just not with the towels 😂). There were, however, a couple of things that unfortunately affected our overall experience. The first was the late check-out situation. We were willing to pay the additional €110 for a late check-out. We had two rooms — one Family Room and one Superior Room — and we were traveling with our 8-month-old baby. Our flight was at 6:00 a.m., so having the room until around 9:00 p.m. would have been extremely helpful. The latest check-out available was 8:00 p.m. with the additional payment. I explained to the receptionist that we were happy to pay the extra charge, but our baby’s bedtime was at 8:00 p.m. I asked if, once I managed to put him to sleep, we could check out shortly afterward. We were talking about a maximum of 15–20 minutes later than the agreed time. Unfortunately, my request was declined, and I was told that I would have to pay an additional $450 if we stayed even 15–20 minutes longer. I completely understand that hotels have rules and policies, but those extra 20 minutes would have meant very little to a hotel with more than 550 rooms, while they would have made a huge difference to us. I would have been able to put my baby to sleep in a calm and quiet environment and then transfer him to the stroller so he could continue sleeping comfortably. It would have made things so much easier for us. What I really didn’t like was the attitude of the person I spoke to and the lack of willingness to help, especially considering the circumstances. I understand that rules are rules, but sometimes a little flexibility and understanding can make a big difference to a guest’s experience. The second issue was with the Lost & Found department. We had some belongings there, and the receptionist told us to wait in the lobby while they brought our things to us. We waited for more than 30 minutes, and when I eventually went back to reception to ask how much longer we would need to wait, I was told that our items had actually been there the whole time — but no one had informed us. These may seem like small things, but they made my stay less comfortable. Unfortunately, when you have several small experiences like this, they can overshadow some of the many positive things you would otherwise want to mention. One more suggestion would be to have a proper spa within the hotel. I think a hotel of this size and standard should have its own spa facilities, and basic spa access should ideally be included in the stay rather than being an additional charge. Despite these points, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and had many great experiences at the hotel. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively, because with a little improvement in these areas, the overall guest experience could be even better.
we’ve stayed at alcazar for a week, and had a brilliant stay which has been made extra special by the adult pool bar and lifeguard staff where we have spent most of our time, they have gone above and beyond during our stay and we have never went without, there service, manners and hospitality skills are a great asset to the alcazar team! thank you Mahmoud, Shandy & Omar you have made our holiday one to remember and will definitely be returning!
Upon arrival we were greeted amazingly, a Cold drink and then a buggy to our room. I say room, it was more like a suite. Very clean and spacious, the biggest most comfortable bed and soft pillows too. If you find the bed a little hard for you reception will arrange for a mattress topper to be added. Great aircon too!!! Bathroom was so large, with double shower, seperate bath, toilet, bidet and a lovely vanity station too. Hairdryer could be a little bit more powerful but it is perfectly fine too. The minibar is chargeable but we didn’t ever feel the need to use it so all anyway. The hotel grounds are kept immaculate by a hard working garden and maintenance team, all the pavements are cleaned early morning, you leave your room and everything is gleaming. We spent our time at the middle pool, the entertainment pool, good music, good atmosphere, pool party’s twice a week which are great fun A very special mention to Jessy and Adam, a wonderful couple on the team, and they are so hardworking and so friendly, they are a real credit to the hotel, as are all the entertainment crew. Pool bar to to the entertainment pool, a big thank you to Carlos, Mohamed and Ali for never keeping us waiting for a drink, and always gave exceptional service no matter how busy they were, And to Fares who walks around offering drinks from the trolley, making sure we were always very hydrated lol Amazing little touches like the cleaning of Your sunglasses, ice cold face cloths to cool you down, magnum style ice creams…. Help yourself, crisps when you fancy a little nibble along side a cold Drink, Alcazar offers it all. The main reason we chose this hotel is for the food, it is absolutely delicious. The buffet has a wide selection on offer but the best thing is the a la carte restaurants, They are all very good, Our favourites were Amoura, Hama and best of all La Maison, the food was spectacular and the service was out of this world. A huge thank you to Mohammed and Sheerif in La Maison and Hama for making us feel so special, their service and attentiveness was the best. Nothing was too much trouble. The chef came out personally to meet us to see how we would like our beef cooked, and he smashed it, both our tenderloin dishes were absolute perfection. Could not fault this hotels food. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and would definitely like to come back one day. Thank you again Alcazar for having us xx
