We have just returned from a fabulous fortnight staying at the Costa Encantada in Lloret de Mar and would highly recommend. Our room was a suite with balcony and was immaculate with plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 kids under 12. It was situated in Block A at the back of the hotel overlooking the basketball and football courts as well as the campsite opposite. It was very quiet despite being at near full capacity. We had no issues getting sun beds every day either as it only opens from 9.00 each morning and is carefully monitored. The overall atmosphere around the hotel and pool was great (no blaring music or people getting loud with the all inclusive alcohol available!) Plenty of activities for the kids to do everyday in the pool etc with the “Animation” Team. A kids club is also on site but we didn’t use this. If all inclusive, the food choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were fantastic. Even our food fussy kids loved it. The snack bar which was also available to all inclusive guests was also really good. If you weren’t all inclusive, there was a pool side snack bar with plenty of choices for lunch which you needed to pay for. Service from staff was fantastic and they were all incredibly helpful, polite, and friendly. The hotel location is a short 10 minute walk to the beach at Platja de Fenals with plenty of shops and restaurants on the way. A walk into the centre of Lloret de Mar from the hotel takes about 20 minutes and again there are plenty of restaurants, pubs, and clubs along the way. A visit to the Castell de Lloret is also worth it for the incredible views. All in all we would highly recommend and we will be returning!
We arrived home from a weeks stay yesterday. Midway through our holiday, my youngest fell really poorly and we had to visit a doctor. He said she had gastroenteritis. My husband and I fell poorly too. As much as we loved the hotel, I feel like the fact it became so busy made it impossible to not get poorly. We witnessed a child poo on the park, a poo in the pool and countless children touching food in the dining room . Lots of young kids without adults wandering in the dining hall. I appreciate this is not the hotels fault, however, I suspect the pool is where we all became poorly. It doesn't smell of chlorine at all. Lots of germs and the place is just crazy busy! The suites are the best weve ever had. We had a 2bed suite which was fab! Please note that Gail is amazing on reception. She was very helpful each time we spoke with her. The fact she is English was a huge bonus when trying to communicate. All the staff were very helpful whilst my daughter was poorly. I requested fresh bedding and a lovely lady came to help me clean and provided new sheets. It wasnt all bad, but we could tell after the first few days that the hotel had become much busier which made the hotel feel over run. We had gone from walking into meal times to having to queue each time. The snack bar is well laid out and its inside so no flies around! The kids drink choices are good. Juice, milkshake, slush and cocktails. Plenty of choice for adults too. The system where you hand a card over for a cup is great. It means less cups laying around. The food is normal All inc kind of stuff. Nobody will go hungry. Lots of salads, breads, meat choices plus chips and plain pasta each day for those who want it. The doctor advised my daughter should try bananas. None were out so I asked and I was quickly provided with 4. The staff are very attentive. The slides in the pool are amazing also. However, its not a consistent approach. Some lifeguards allow adults on the slides, some dont. Such a shame that a few things let the hotel down. Sadly we wont return. We've never felt so poorly! If you need to see doctor we went to the CAP center. Using our European health card, the visit was free. You just pay for the prescription. All in all, a great hotel, it just got way too busy! I have contacted the hotel who were accepting of my points raised. They offered to raise a formal complaint but it wont prevent kids being unsupervised and germs so it seemed pointless.
Just got home from a weeks holiday here with my husband and our two children. From the offset we have had nothing but great things to say about Costa Encantada. On arrival we told the receptionist Gail that I was scared of heights as we were originally allocated a 5th floor room and she ensured she would try her best to change this which she did resulting in a 1st floor room. Also we arrived way before check in time but our room was ready which was a bonus. Rooms were lovely, nice bathroom and decent balcony and loved the fact that the children were on proper beds not just pull out sofa beds. We only stayed bed and breakfast but the choice was breakfast was great. The pools were amazing, so much for my 7 year old to do. The mini water park was fab! Pools were very busy yet there was always sun beds available. Staff all seemed friendly. Gail was a definite stand out member who was very pleasant and helpful every time we saw her. Lloret De Mar itself wasn’t really for us, it was full of barely 18yr olds partying however the town called Blanes nearby was well worth a visit for families with small children. If this hotel was in a different location I’d 100percent return!!
