Ocenjeno z LoveTravel589661Room was not as described ......
Biggest problem was the room, it was neither a garden or pool view and was tucked away at the side of the building overlooking the aircon and a road. Only accessible via the fire exit and involved a walk past the side exit of the indoor pool, this was sometimes very treacherous with water all over the floor.
Aircon was very noisy though this was eventually resolved, additionally the room was not being re-stocked properly and we were constantly at reception requesting extra items.
This wasn't even the first room we were shown, the first had a permanently flushing toilet and was again up steps so by the time we had dragged the bags up the stairs we arrived at the bar just after 11pm to be told the all Inclusive drinks were finished !
Food was generally OK, decent variety and some tasty dishes however it was generally just warm, sometimes tepid.
On the plus side the location was excellent, a short stroll to the beaches and town centre. Also staff were generally friendly inc bar, reception and cleaning staff (the latter had to clean up the fag ash and ends which were being deposited from a balcony above us).
Didn't bother with the entertainment as it was just very loud and really just catered for the French speaking quests (which appeared to be in the majority).
Another plus was a decent pool area and no problems getting a decent sun lounger.
Also worth pointing out that the place also catered for large school groups though they were well behaved and relatively quiet.
Also be aware that not much English is spoken either, though this shouldn't be an issue.
Ocenjeno z S2195JPcarlapTHIEVES!! MONEY MISSING FROM ROOM + EXTREME SAFETY CONCERNS - AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS
During our stay at Alua Hotel Tenerife, approximately 1000€ went missing from our room under extremely concerning circumstances. The money disappeared during the short period we were at breakfast. It’s clear to us that the housekeeper stole it. (And the hotel knows exactly who she is- the blonde one with glasses - I saw her the day of our departure and the receptionist lied to our faces that she is not there!)
What is even more alarming is that THE TERRACE WINDOWS DO NOT LOCK, which creates a MAJOR SECURITY RISK. Our lives were put in serious danger. After reading other reviews mentioning similar incidents, including reports of people entering rooms at night, this becomes deeply horrifying. (Please look carefully, as you will find more reviews from people who claim they have been robbed at this hotel)
Additionally, there appears to have been access to our room that is not properly reflected in the hotel’s records. This raises serious questions about how room access is controlled and whether guest safety is actually a priority here.
What is equally unacceptable is how the situation was handled by the reception team. Instead of taking this seriously or trying to assist us, we were met with a dismissive, defensive attitude and even laughed at. They treated us as if we were crazy. We were repeatedly told that “this is what happens” if valuables are not placed in the safe, which is an outrageous response and does nothing to address the underlying security failure. THEY DIDN’T EVEN SAY “SORRY”!
We have not even been informed about the safe!
This experience left us feeling unsafe, unsupported and completely disregarded as paying guests. Our vacation was ruined…
If anyone reading this has experienced something similar at this hotel, please consider leaving a review so we can connect, maybe we can fight this together.
While we unfortunately cannot provide concrete evidence showing exactly the housekeeper stealing the money, the hotel still remains responsible for ensuring a minimum standard of guest security, which in this case was clearly not met. We therefore expected appropriate compensation for the loss and the distress caused. We also filed a police report and the hotel, of course, refused to offer anything to us, as they trust their staff, who have been working there for the past 20 years🤣 (yes, for the past 20 years people have been robbed at this hotel and who knows how many reviews they’ve deleted)
We strongly advise others to avoid this hotel!
