Overall, I’d say this hotel is pretty average. There are some good things about it, but there are also quite a few issues that need sorting out.
The rooms were okay, but the air conditioning was either freezing cold or really loud, even on the warmest setting. Housekeeping could definitely be better too. The floors often still felt dirty and sometimes even sticky when we got back to the room. Our bed sheets also weren’t changed for five days, which wasn’t great. The fridge in our room smelled absolutely awful for the whole stay. Normally we would have mentioned something like that, but after seeing how some guests were spoken to by reception staff, we didn’t really feel comfortable bringing it up.
The room key being built into the wristband is a good idea in theory, but it hasn’t been thought through very well. The scanner for the door is so close to the wall that you practically have to perform acrobatics to get your wrist in the right position. Some of our older family members ended up using the key card from the electricity slot instead because it was easier than trying to scan the wristband every time.
There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool, but a lot of them stay in the shade until later in the day, so if you want one in the sun you’ll need to get there early. The pool itself was absolutely freezing and didn’t always seem very clean. At one point I found a wet wipe floating in it.
The lifeguard didn’t seem very interested in what was going on either. Most of the time he was sat on his phone and only seemed involved during the aqua gym sessions. It didn’t affect me personally, but for parents with young children or people who can’t swim, it might not be very reassuring.
The gym was decent enough for a hotel gym. The equipment was okay, although some of the weight plates on the machines were damaged. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s worth mentioning.
The food was probably the biggest disappointment. If you have dietary requirements, be prepared for a struggle. There was very little information about what was in the food and staff didn’t seem to know much either. The gluten free pasta was one of the worst meals I had during the stay. It was mushy, overcooked and completely cold. The pizza was actually quite nice though. There’s also an electronic board at the restaurant entrance showing what’s being served. It’s a good idea, but it was often wrong so it wasn’t much help.
The entertainment was okay and there was usually something going on, but it could get very loud and busy, and finding somewhere to sit wasn’t always easy.
One thing I do want to praise is the restaurant staff. They were always friendly, welcoming and worked hard. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for reception. A family member was trying to book a courtesy room and was spoken to quite rudely by a member of staff who wasn’t even part of the conversation. Being told, “It’s a courtesy to book this room,” in that tone was completely unnecessary and left a bad impression.
Accessibility is another area where the hotel falls short. The lifts in Block C were constantly having problems. One was regularly out of service and even when they were working, they could take ages to arrive. If you’re staying on one of the higher floors and struggle with stairs, you could easily be waiting five minutes or more for a lift. There is also no chair lift for the pool. There is a ramp with a handrail, which is better than nothing, but overall I wouldn’t say this hotel is particularly well suited to guests with mobility issues. The same goes for anyone with dietary restrictions.
In the end, this hotel isn’t awful, but it isn’t somewhere I’d rush back to either. There are some decent facilities and some lovely staff, especially in the restaurant, but the food, housekeeping, accessibility and attitude of certain staff members need a lot of improvement.

This hotel was outstanding and the nicest one I’ve stayed in by far fantastic and lived up to its expectations and standards also I appreciated the food quality and hospitality there too they catered to my needs when I asked for it brilliant I can’t fault them all well done to all the staff and everyone else involved

I’ve just returned from my first stay at Servatur Waikiki in Gran Canaria, travelling solo, and I had a fantastic holiday.
The staff were amazing from start to finish – always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. As a solo traveller, I felt comfortable and well looked after throughout my stay. The resort itself was brilliant, with great facilities, a lovely atmosphere, and plenty to enjoy.
I stayed on the all-inclusive package and was very impressed with the food and drink options. There was a good variety available each day, and everything was well organised.
The only small issue was that the door handle in my room was quite wobbly and could do with some maintenance. However, this was a very minor problem and didn’t impact my stay at all.
Overall, I had a wonderful first experience at Servatur Waikiki and would definitely consider returning in the future. Highly recommended!
