I want to warn everyone about the reception staff at Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort.I arrived at the hotel very tired after traveling for almost 24 hours. Instead of helping me, the reception staff refused to give me the room I booked. We paid for a Preferred Room, but they tried to trick me and force me into a lower category Standard room in building 5000. I insisted multiple times that I wanted the room I officially paid for. I refused their cheap room. Then, they started to force me to sign a paper. This paper said that the problem was resolved and I had no claims. This was a clear scam to hide their bad actions from the hotel management and the travel agency. I refused to sign it, but they continued to pressure me and insist very aggressively. Only when I finally asked to call the administrator, they changed their behavior. They did not call the manager, but they quickly gave me the correct keys to my Preferred Room. Also, they hid my coupons for the a la carte restaurant, and I had to ask for them separately later. This is dishonest and unacceptable. The staff tried to scam a tired tourist. Please check everything at the desk and do not sign any papers!
Top-notch resort, in every sense: location, services, super cleanliness, highly efficient staff; in fact, my husband had lost his eyeglasses, and after 2 hours we received them, they mobilized to try to solve the problem, exceptional; the food, we tried both the Italian and the international restaurant, everything of excellent quality; then the sea, swimming among the fish and corals is priceless; in short, we will definitely return, I highly recommend it.
We booked this holiday to Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort and Spa as a last-minute getaway. My partner had just had a hip replacement and I have a respiratory condition, so right after booking, I emailed Mr. Yousry to ask if he could please place us as close as possible to the relax pool. Upon arrival around 1:15 AM, we were met by Mr. Ali, who gave us a clear explanation of where everything was. He kindly pointed us in the direction of the Sports Bar so we could grab some late-night snacks before they closed at 2:00 AM. After we ate, we were taken to our room. When I stepped out onto the patio, I realized we were only about 100 meters from the relax pool—so I want to give a huge thank you to Mr. Yousry for making sure we were right where we asked to be! The Room, Our room consisted of a bathroom with a shower, sink, and bidet (no bath), along with plenty of closet space for hanging clothes and a laptop-sized safe. The mini-fridge was stocked with cans of soda and juice (these aren't refilled daily, but you just have to ask if you want more). The room featured two large beds pushed together, a TV unit, a corner armchair, and a fold-out bed. Outside, the private patio had two chairs and a small round table. Dining & Discovering the Relax Pool, The morning after we arrived, we went down to the main family restaurant. It wasn't really what we were used to—there were kids running around unchecked by their parents, and the food was warm rather than hot. We headed back to our room and went down to the relax pool, where the pool guys, Ali and Hossam, helped us sort out our sunbeds and towels. They did this every morning and checked in during the day to see if we needed anything else. The pool bar opened around 9:00 AM, and Essam came around with water and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Since it was early, we started with a cup of tea before moving on to "other" drinks. The beer at the pool bar is fine, and my partner loved the "Green Lagoons" (a non-alcoholic drink). The guys behind the bar—Ahmed, David, and Gehad—kept the drinks coming every day of our two-week holiday and were absolute stars. The relax pool is exactly what it claims to be: no children under 16, no music, and wonderfully tranquil. The pool itself is quite large. Right in front of where we laid, there were four sunbeds sitting in the shallow water with small drink ledges—the only place I remember where you're allowed to have a drink in a plastic cup inside the pool. The rest of the pool is a comfortable depth for swimming. Finding Our Rhythm with Emma and Chef Sayed Around lunchtime, Emma, the hotel's customer service representative, came round and introduced herself (she checks in with guests every day). When I mentioned that the hotel was nice but I didn't care for the main restaurant, she suggested trying the Sunset Court restaurant for breakfast and dinner. She explained it was smaller and quieter, though with a slightly smaller selection than the main buffet. She also walked us through how to book the à la carte restaurants at the reception desk between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, where you get slips to show when you arrive. That evening, we tried Sunset Court for dinner. It was very quiet at 6:30 PM and picked up by 7:00 PM. The dishes are a mix of Asian and Egyptian, featuring lovely curries, roasted vegetables, shish kebabs, fish, fries, and the usual salads and cold cuts. The dessert section is smaller, but we always found something we liked. The next night, Chef Sayed even walked me through the different dishes and I took a video to share! We usually wrapped up our nights early, heading back to the room by 8:30 PM to chill with beers and wine from the bar while watching Netflix. The À la Carte Restaurants, We booked the Fisherman’s (Seafood), Al Dente (Italian), and Le Romantique (French) restaurants for consecutive nights. Since we stayed for two weeks, we were able to do this twice. The food standard across all the à la carte restaurants is exceptionally high, and we thoroughly enjoyed every single meal there after our first rough night. The staff in these restaurants were absolute characters—especially Ashley Cole, who kept us in stitches. We even got to see photos of his son, "Little Ashley Cole," dressed in his full England kit! Accessibility & Going Above and Beyond Across all the restaurants, We noticed managers constantly walking around to check if everything was okay. One gentleman who helped me immensely was the Food & Beverage Manager, Mohamed. Because of my health condition, when I wanted to go for dinner, I would call reception and they would send a golf buggy to pick us up. However, once we finished eating, there was no easy way for me to ask for a buggy back without climbing the steep steps up to reception, which I couldn't manage. When I explained this to Mohamed, he kindly arranged for a buggy to come straight down to the restaurant to pick us up every single night. I really appreciated that kindness. Final Thoughts, While we didn't use the other pools (my partner occasionally grabbed lunch from the snack bar at the slide pool), the resort genuinely has something for everyone—whether you want a high-activity environment or complete peace and quiet. Every single staff member goes out of their way to ensure you have a fantastic holiday. If something isn't right, don't be afraid to tell them; they want to fix it so it doesn't impact your stay. We will definitely be coming back—though probably not in the dead of summer, as the heat was a bit too much for me!
